Candying - A Pastry Workshop

The word “candy” comes from the Sanskirt “khandakah”, meaning sugar, and candying is indeed one of oldest methods of food preservation. It was practised in ancient China, Mesopotamia and by the Romans, who even used it to conserve fish. Today candied fruit is a fundamental ingredient in many Italian desserts, like panettone and panforte. Accompanied by master pastry chef Alessandro Bianco, in this workshop we’ll discover the secrets of candying and learn how to candy oranges, lemons and more unconventional ingredients like tomatoes.

The event is free but booking is required (there will only be space for 18 people).

Online ticket sales are now closed. During the days of the event (September 22-26), all remaining tickets will be available at the Event Reception on the ground floor of the Regione Piemonte building in Piazza Castello and at the reception of Eataly Torino Lingotto. Tickets for the conferences will also be available directly at the Carignano Theater.
