The Chefs’ Alliance Kitchen
Fourteen Italian chefs and four from overseas will light up the stage at the Chefs’ Alliance Kitchen, in the heart of Turin: Piazza Castello. Here, they’ll prepare their original creations using the Slow Food Presidia, products which tell the story of their territories and the philosophy that inspires their work. Each plate will accompanied by wines and beers selected by Slow Food.
There are over 500 chefs in the Alliance, committed to using products from Slow Food projects (the Presidia, the Ark of Taste, the Food Communities and the Earth Markets) to deliver good, clean and fair food that is both respectful of the environment and animal wellbeing. Wherever they work, be it in a restaurant, hotel, bistrot, markets or food truck, they promote sustainable agriculture by using vegetables, flours, cheese, meats from small-scale producers.
Though their profiles, histories and cooking styles may be very different, what these chefs have in common is their daily battle to safeguard agricultural diversity, gastronomic knowledge and local cultures. The Alliance was born through a collaboration with Alce Nero, Miele and Valcucine, three companies working to the same principles, representing cuisine as a connection between people and the planet.
