At the 10th edition of Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre you’ll be spoilt for choice with more than 80 Taste Workshops in which to indulge. Discover national and international food excellence, delight in new taste experiences, meet producers, talk to experts and above all, try the thousands of products biodiversity can offer.
Be sure not to miss the themed meetings! This year we are dedicating a whole room to beer, its story and its territory of origin. Opening the proceedings is Trappist Chimay Grande Réserve from Belgium with a tour into the silent world of monasteries, followed by a chance to discover the other beers of Belgium, as well as Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Scandinavia and New Zealand. Naturally we will also present the beer culture of Italy, much of which is documented in the recently published Guida alle Birre d’Italia 2015 (Guide to Italian Beers 2015), reflecting the growth (in number and quality) of Italian microbreweries.
Important news on the wine front: The link between wine and regionality will take an important role in tastings – providing not only a sensorial analysis, but also information about the history, culture, environment and society that make every place and therefore every wine, unique. Brace yourself for a journey through the great wines of France, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and the authentic wines of Oregon and California. Curious? Then don’t miss the geo-sensorial tasting led by Jacky Rigaux from the University of Burgundy, or another with Claude and Lydia Bourguignon who have dedicated their lives to the study of the land.
Naturally, the Terra Madre food communities will also be there, taking part in numerous events of an international nature. Experts and producers from Ethiopia, China, Japan, Korea and North Africa will come to explore new frontiers of food and challenge your preconceptions.
This year we also have an abundance of Meetings with the Makers events, a chance to get up close and personal with masters of international gastronomy and winemaking.
