Earth Markets: direct from Italian, Lebanese and Malian producers.
2008 is the year of Earth Markets, a network dedicated to small local food producers.
Devised to shorten the supply chain, to ensure fair earnings for producers, to offer consumers seasonal, local, affordable fare, the Earth Markets also seek to promote food culture, conviviality and sustainability.They are places to meet, explore and eat together.
At the Salone del Gusto, Slow Food presents the project and the people involved to the general public.

The Earth Markets are an international project. The first were opened in Italy, Lebanon and Mali in 2007 under the supervision of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity and with the support and collaboration of the Tuscany Regional Authority.
This year the Salone del Gusto will be streamed live on www.slowfood.it from the web radio in the Street Kitchens corridor.
